Our internal guidelines
Our internal guidelines apply to everyone in the association – both board members, volunteers, conversation hosts, and other participants.
They clarify our core values, division of responsibilities, and how we work to ensure safety, respect, and transparency in everything we do.
Here you will also find policies concerning ethics, security, and collaboration.
Our core values Autism Dad United is founded on the conviction that all people have the right to respect, community, and the opportunity to participate – regardless of functional variation, gender, background, or life situation.
We particularly believe in strengthening fathers who are often left alone in parenting a child with special needs.
We meet each other and others with warmth, understanding, and humility.
– We listen – without judging.
– We speak – without offending.
– We support – without taking over.
We stand for: All people’s equal worth and right to a life without discrimination.
- The right to belonging – even for those who are struggling.
- An open and inclusive culture where it is allowed to be both strong and vulnerable.
The association’s core values include a special focus on:
– Understanding of how neurodevelopmental disorders affect daily life, relationships, and self-esteem.
– Support for fathers who bear great responsibility but often lack support.
– Recognition of life’s complexity – that one can simultaneously feel gratitude and fatigue, love and worry, strength and helplessness.
When we meet others – in conversations, at gatherings, or in communication We listen openly and without prejudice.
- We express ourselves respectfully, factually, and thoughtfully.
- We protect people’s integrity – especially when it comes to children and families in vulnerable situations.
- We represent the association with heart and responsibility, both digitally and physically.
Membership is only $5 a month. This minimal fee helps us cover our operating costs. You can help us by recommending us to your friends – the more members we have, the lower we can keep the price for everyone.
We also warmly welcome stepparents, bonus dads, and grandparents
The fathers of children and youth with Autism, ADHD, or related ASD diagnoses are at the heart of our mission.
