Whistleblower Policy

1. Purpose & scope This policy describes how suspicions of irregularities or ethically serious shortcomings can be reported within the association. The policy applies to everyone who represents Autism Dad United – board members, volunteers, conversation hosts, and others.

2. What is covered by whistleblowing? Examples of situations that fall under this policy:

  • Serious rule violations (finance, fraud, corruption)
  • Violations of our governing documents (bylaws, core values, code of conduct)
  • Serious discrimination, harassment, or privacy violations
  • Questionable financial management or improper accounting
  • Risks of physical or psychological harm without proper handling

3. How do you report? You can report in two ways:

  1. Directly to the board via email or phone
  2. Via anonymous function on the association’s website All reports are handled confidentially and discreetly.

4. Process & timeframes

  • Confirmation is sent to you within 5 working days.
  • A responsible investigator is appointed, and the matter is investigated within 20 working days.
  • You are informed in writing about the investigation’s results and any measures taken.
  • The policy prohibits retaliation – you as a reporter should not be negatively affected.
  • False accusations are handled according to disciplinary procedures. Read more in our Whistleblower Policy folder or contact the board if uncertain.

5. Exclusion and confidentiality principles

  • We protect anonymity – if you request it, your identity shall be protected as far as possible.
  • In certain cases, anonymity may need to be broken in order to investigate – then you are informed in advance.
  • All information is handled according to GDPR and confidentiality requirements.

6. Responsibility & reporting

  • The board decides on further handling and is responsible for measures.
  • All incidents are reported as anonymized reports in board meetings and annual meetings.

7. Revision This policy is revised at least every other year, or when needed if the structure changes.
